How to Play Guitar for Beginners

Learning how to play guitar is not difficult as long as you are willing to put in some effort every day. There are many different methods that a beginner can choose to start learning guitar but there are some basics that you should start out with. Many people make the mistake of thinking that you have to have a good knowledge of music theory to play guitar but this is not true although it can be beneficial.

If you are a beginner and are thinking about learning how to play guitar but do not know where to start one of the easiest options is to find some free guitar video lessons online. This can be a great options especially if you do not know how to read guitar tabs. There are many sites that offer beginner guitar lessons online but be careful which site you sign up to, not many of the sites have free guitar lessons and you need to make sure that if you do decide to buy a subscription to lessons that you choose one that is suited to your playing skills. Learning guitar by video tutorials is a great way to begin practicing.

You can find many different lessons online on video sharing sites but one of my personal favorite guitar teachers is Marty Schwartz, he offers beginner guitar lessons online and has hundreds of lessons available from complete beginner lessons starting with learning your first chord to more advanced lessons with tutorials on how to play riffs, solos and chord progressions as well as different styles from blues to punk, rock and indie.

You can get 10 free beginner guitar lessons here from Marty's site and he has many instructional videos that will show you how to start playing guitar fast, even if you have never played a chord before.
