How to get Rid of Blackheads and Pimples
When it comes to problem skin care and acne some of the most frequent questions asked include, "how to get rid of blackheads?" and "how to get clear skin?". These questions are common for anyone who suffers from pimples, blackheads, spots and other acne skin conditions.
Acne and other related skin problems are common and affect people in different ways, from a recurring acne breakout (which can often be a result of hormonal changes) to an ongoing persistant problem. Teenage acne is common but many adults also suffer from breakouts and pimples in adulthood. There are many causes of spots and many types of treatments available from skin cleansers to prescription acne treatments and natural remedies.
In this hub I am going to look at what causes blackheads and how blackhead prevention is just as important as blackhead removal.
What are Blackheads and Blackhead Removal
Blackhead removal is in my opinion one of the most difficult aspects of skincare because it is one of the most problematic to get rid of. Blackheads are most commonly seen on people who have oily skin types and are caused by excess oils which clog open pores. The reason that these are more common in people with oily skin is because oily skin types tend to have larger pores making them more likely to getting blocked. Open pores allow oxygen to react to the oil trapped in the pore and turns the oil a darker color resulting in a black colored spot on the skin.
Blackheads are very small in comparison to pimples and are most common around the nose, chin and forehead, in other words the T zone. So, how to get rid of blackheads?
Blackhead removal and blackhead prevention go hand in hand. If you truly want to get rid of blackheads then you need to firstly concentrate on prevention. There are a few steps you can take to decrease the build up of excess oil on your skin which in return will help to reduct the amount of blackheads. Do not use oily or greasy skin care products, this is important for anyone who suffers from oily skin. Gentle natural products are much more effective than thick creams and harsh acne products. Exfoliate regularly to get rid of dead skin cells, they can also block the pores worsening the problem. A gentle facial scrub once of twice a week can make a big difference.
Blackhead Removal
There are many differing opinions on how to get rid of blackheads and removal is one of the harder parts of this process, combined with a good skin care routine, removal can be done carefully and successfully. The best way to remove blackheads is by applying light pressure to either side of the area and squeezing gently. Before you do this you should gently warm the area affected by using a warm damp cloth placed on the skin, the warm water will help to open the pores, alternatively you can have a shower as the steam will also help to open the pores.
You should not however put too much pressure on the blackhead, you can damage and bruise the skin around the area and this can lead to the problem worsening. If you cant remove it, leave if for another time and concentrate on prevention.
