Acne Spot Treatment and Advice

By

There are many different types of acne spot treatment available, everything from natural acne remedies to over the counter treatments and prescription creams and the one you need is determined by the severity of your acne skin condition.

Acne is a common problem for many people and spot treatment is usually quite simple for mild cases however if you are a long time sufferer or have a very serious condition that is causing you distress then in many cases you may need to see your doctor or dermatologist for further treatment.

The good news is that it can be cured, there are different methods available and in some cases it will mean a change in lifestyle and diet but with a good skin care routine and a healthy balanced diet most outbreaks of mild acne can be cleared in a short amount of time.

Types of Acne

There are quite a few different causes of acne outbreaks and bad skin conditions, with spots and pimples the cause can be anything from hormonal changes in the body to poor diet or poor skin care routine.

Hormonal acne is one of the more difficult to get rid of, it does tend to flare up during the teenage years and can occassionaly flare up again in women during pregnancy or any other time when hormonal levels change.

Getting rid of acne caused by a poor skin care routine or poor diet can be easier as long as the sufferer is willing to change some small areas in their diet.  Not drinking enough water each day is something a lot of people do and this can have a very negative affect on the health of your skin, to see an improvement in your skin, simply drinking water and eating the required amounts of fruit and vegetables each day can greatly improve the look and feel of your skin, however it is not an "instant acne fix" It will take time to see the results which is a reason why many people fail to get rid of their acne with this method.

Acne Treatment for Mild Acne Sufferers

If you only have mild acne or the occassional breakout of pimples then it is very possible that you will be able to use an over the counter acne remedy to get rid of your pimples or you may choose to use a natural remedy.

Mild outbreaks can occur for many different reasons such as if you are feeling stressed or have been burning the candle at both ends or in many cases for women they will suffer an acne breakout once a month around the time of menstruation. These are all common factors that can contribute to the occassional skin problem and usually do not need any further treatment.

Severe Acne Spot Treatment

If you are a long time sufferer with severe acne that is causing problems for you then you have probably already tried various different methods to get rid of acne.  There are so many different types available that choosing one and sticking with it can be difficult if you do not see immediate results. There are many spot treatments available and sometimes prescription topical creams may be required to cure your acne condition.

Acne can be a very difficult condition for sufferers, it can reduce self confidence in the sufferer and many people feel very uncomfortable doing even normal activities such as socializing because they are conscious of their skin problem.

Many women choose heavy makeup as a way to conceal their spots and pimples but this can have a negative effect on the skin causing even more problems by blocking the pores and not allowing the skin to breathe.  It is best to avoid applying too much to the skin when a breakout occurs.
